Match Reort: Jets come from behind to defeat Wanderers

Two second-half goals from Mark Natta and Eli Adams have secured a 2-1 win over the Western Sydney Wanderers in front of 10,955 fans at McDonald Jones Stadium.

The Jets had the first chance of the match when a cross from Clayton Taylor fell to Will Dobson on the edge of the 18-yard box. His shot was hit well; however, Lawrence Thomas was able to save comfortably.

The Wanderers found the first goal of the match when a reverse cross from Ryan Fraser was met at the back post by Bozhidar Kraev to make it 1-0.

Mark Milligan’s side made the best possible to start to the second half when Clayton Taylor’s misskick found it’s way to Eli Adams at the back post to smash past Thomas and make it 1-1 on the 47th Minute mark.

Newcastle took the lead on the 77th minute mark when a scramble in the box saw the ball fall to Mark Natta to score and make it 2-1 against his former Club.

The Wanderers pushed hard for an equaliser in injury time and almost pulled off the spectacular when goalkeeper Thomas managed to outjump Mark Natta, only to be denied by a brilliant save from Jets goalkeeper James Delianov.

The win sees Mark Milligan’s side move to 40 points on the A-League ladder. The Newcastle Jets, who are next in action on Saturday, the 14th March at McDonald Jones Stadium when they take on Auckland FC in a top of the table clash.
