Kosta Grozos to Depart the Club

The Newcastle Jets can confirm that Kosta Grozos will depart the club at the expiration of his contract this season.

Grozos joined the Newcastle Jets ahead of the 2021/22 season after his departure from the Western Sydney Wanderers. He went on to make 125 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals.

Ahead of the 2024/25 season, Grozos was named captain of our A-League Men’s side, becoming the Club’s youngest permanent captain. Under his captaincy, the Club lifted the Australia Cup and Premiers Plate, both for the first time.

General Manager of Football Nigel Boogaard thanked Kosta for his contributions to the club over the last five seasons.

“On behalf of the Club, I want to thank Kosta for everything he has given to the Newcastle Jets over the past five seasons. Kosta has grown with this Club, taken on real responsibility, and represented Newcastle with pride every time he has stepped onto the pitch.

To captain the team at such a young age is a significant achievement, and to then lead the Club to its first Australia Cup and Premiers Plate speaks to the impact he has had during his time here.

Kosta leaves the Club with our full respect and appreciation, and we wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.”
