W-League: Two big outs for Thursday night

Ash Wilson has named a squad of 15 for Thursday night’s clash with Perth Glory at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Sophie Nenadovic and Renee Pountney have been promoted and are a guarantee to be in the gameday squad.

Two players will miss out, with Libby Copus-Brown incurring a mandatory one-game suspension due to yellow card accumulation while Nicki Flannery has suffered a lower-leg injury which looks set to keep her out for one-two weeks.

It’s an important match for Newcastle, who can do the double over Perth with a win. Last time out in the West, Flannery and Tara Andrews struck to claim a 2-1 win.
