Newcastle Jets crowned 2025/26 Premiers

The Newcastle Jets has won the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025/26 Premier’s Plate for the first time in the club’s history, capping off an incredible regular season for Mark Milligan’s men.

The Premiership, the club’s first-ever and first piece of A-Leagues’ silverware since the 2008 Championship, was won in the penultimate round of the season after a 2-2 draw with Victory, and chaser’s Auckland FC’s 1-0 loss to the Mariners to keep the gap at four points with one match remaining.

The Premier’s Plate triumph also secures the Jets a semi-final place, in their first Finals appearance since they hosted the Isuzu UTE A-League Grand Final in 2018, and a spot in the lucrative AFC Champions League Elite for season 2026/27. It will be the Jets’ first appearance in the premier continental competition, and their second foray into Asia after competing in the AFC Champions League during the 2008/09 season.

The Isuzu UTE A-League Premier’s Plate will be presented to the Newcastle Jets following their final round fixture against the Central Coast Mariners at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday, 25 April.

A-Leagues CEO, Steve Rosich, said: “The Jets have captured the hearts of the Hunter this season with their fearless playing style by an exciting young squad. They’ve been the stand-out side all season, and congratulations to all involved at the Club on their first-ever Premiership.”

“The club has built great momentum on and off the field this season – an historic unbeaten run and record crowds – and we look forward to seeing if they can make more history in the Isuzu UTE A-League 2026 Finals Series.”
