The Newcastle Jets still have a lot to prove away from home after a 2-nil loss to the Central Coast Mariners cost the team their first three-points on the road.
The loss comes on the back of an impressive 3-1 win over Melbourne Victory the week before.
“We were not good enough and it is disappointing that mentally we were not up to it,” captain Jobe Wheelhosue said.
“We still have not won away from home, we have one good game and then one not so good team so we need to get that out of our system or we are going to be a bit of a yo-yo team.”
Coach Gary van Egmond says the team needs to work on their consistency before it costs them their 2011/12 campaign.
“We are still working on what we want to achieve, our goal is making sure we improve on each performance,” van Egmond explained.
“Our problem at the moment is that we are a little bit inconsistent and you can see at times we do really well and there are times where we don-t so we n need to try and iron that out.”
