Newcastle Jets can confirm the Club has finalised a mutual contract termination with Central defender, Lachlan Jackson.
Jackson will depart the Jets effective immediately after securing the opportunity to play overseas.
It was an opportunity the Jets could not deny him of.
“It’s a good opportunity for me to take for my career,” Jackson said.
“It’s something that I’ve been looking to do for quite a while and I look forward to giving it a crack.
“I want to say a thanks to the supporters for welcoming me to the club six years ago and sticking by us through thick and thin.
“I really feel like Newcastle is a second home to me. I really enjoyed my experience here and I’ll cherish it.”
The 26-year-old made his A-League debut for Brisbane Roar in 2014 and joined the Jets in 2016.
While at the Jets, Jackson represented Australia U-23’s on two occasions and made 87 appearances, for a total 90 games in the A-League.
The Jets wish Jackson all the best with his future endeavours.
