Our Women’s Youth Team were defeated 4-1 by SD Raiders in the FNSW League One Women’s Match of the Round.

SD Raiders had the first chance of the game, with Taiana Almeida firing straight at goal, with Ally Boertje saving it. The Youth Team fired back quickly, with goal-scoring phenom Makayla Clifton narrowly missing the target.
The game settled into a rhythm, as both teams had half-chances here and there but couldn’t break through. SD Raiders FC ended the half with a pair of chances. Almeida curled a free-kick straight at Ally Boertje, before Boag dragged her effort wide.
Boag made amends for his miss just two minutes into the second half, as she opened the scoring in the 47th minute. Robinson doubled the lead in the 64th minute, before scoring her second and SD Raiders third in the 73rd minute.
Navah Crofton scored from a set-piece, as she floated a free kick over the head of Pentecost and into the back of the net, making it 3-1 in the 78th minute. SD Raiders FC added a fourth in the 89th minute to seal the win, a corner from Boag found Almeida, who headed home for 4-1.
Head Coach Greg Hartge spoke to Football NSW after the match,
“It was a very competitive first half. It was a heavy pitch which made us look slower than usual, then they came out firing in the second. In the end, the girls are pushing for an A-League Women’s spot and the wins are a bonus,” Hartge said.
