W-League Ins & Outs: Squad list for Sydney FC clash

Newcastle Jets Westfield W-League coach Ash Wilson believes her team are building well ahead of their clash with the competition leaders.

The Jets play visitor to Sydney FC at Cromer Park on Sunday in what will be Tara Andrews’ 100th top-flight match.

Because the competition is so short, seasons are so short – 100 games, she’s been in the comp for 11 years,” Wilson said.

“To show that consistency and commitment to the game for so long is a credit to her. She’s given so much to the Club. I’m massively proud of her.”

Sitting sixth on the ladder with four points, the Jets have been unlucky before a standout performance against Greater Western Sydney last weekend.

Wilson hopes that victory will be the catalyst in taking their game to another level.

“There’s a lot more belief there,” Wilson said.

“The girls know that over the last couple of weeks they’ve definitely been building.

“The performance against Wanderers, knowing we can score, has put the girls in a good mindset. They have every belief and confidence in themselves.”

In team news, coach Wilson welcomes back midfielder Chloe O’Brien from injury.
