The Newcastle Jets Hyundai A-League squad will play host to more than 400 aspiring young footballers across Dubbo and Orange as part of the club’s annual Jets:TOUR in partnership with the Club’s Major Community Partner, Greater Bank.

It is the fifth year the Jets full Hyundai A-League squad and coaching staff has embarked on regional NSW and the first time the club has visited the NSW Central West region.

This year the tour will stop at Dubbo on Friday 20 September, where the squad will host a Jets: PLAY clinic at Apex Oval for boys and girls aged between five and 14 years, before playing a trial game at the same venue the following night against reigning A-League champions, Sydney FC.

The squad will then travel to Orange on Sunday, 22 September, to host a second Jets:PLAY clinic at Sir Jack Brabham Park Soccer Fields.

Newcastle Jets Chief Executive Officer, Mr Lawrie McKinna, said that the Club is looking forward to engaging with the regional NSW communities for a fifth successive year.

“With Greater Bank’s backing and the additional support of football people in NSW’s Central West, we are delighted to take our Newcastle Jets players to the people of these regions,” McKinna said.

“Over the past four years, the Jets:TOUR fuelled by Greater Bank has provided a great chance for us to meet many of our Members and fans in their backyard, and generally spread the word of the game and our Club to the wider community.

“The Jets:PLAY clinics will be a chance for young footballers in Dubbo and Orange to meet and learn invaluable skills from their football heroes while the trial match against Sydney FC is a wonderful opportunity for the region to see some of the game’s best footballers in action.”

Greater Bank Head of Marketing and Customer Experience, Matt Hingston, said that the partnership with the Newcastle Jets, which is now in it’s fifth year, provides an important platform for the bank to connect with customers in its key regional markets.

“Greater Bank has been servicing customers in the NSW Central West region since 1998 and the regional tour helps us to connect with the people and communities that support us,” Mr Hingston said.

“We are delighted to again partner with the Newcastle Jets to take the tour to regional centres and give the people of the NSW Central West the chance to meet their heroes and watch elite football live in their home town.”
