Oliver Cockle

A product of the Newcastle Jets Academy, Oliver started his football Journey with Cooks Hill and Broadmeadow Magic, before moving to the Academy. Oliver debuted for the Youth team in 2024 at 16 years old in the FNSW League Two competition. However, it was in 2025 that he established himself as a Youth team regular, scoring 13 goals in 25 games in FNSW League One. “Oli” was rewarded for his fine form with the 2024/25 Emerging Jet award, an award given to recognise outstanding performances and potential for an academy player. Oliver is able to play anywhere across the frontline, or as an attacking midfielder.

2025/26 Season:

Oliver regularly trained with Mark Milligan’s senior squad throughout the 2025/26 season. He also featured in several pre-season fixtures, which included a goal-scoring appearance against St George FC. Oliver featured in the match-day squad for the Jets round 8 fixture against Wellington Phoenix, although he did not see any action on the day.

2026/27 Season:

Oliver signed his first professional contract ahead of the 2026/27 season.
