Emma Bates

Emma started her football journey on the Central Coast, first with Kanwal Rovers before spending a year in the Central Coast Mariners Academy. She then made the move to the Newcastle Jets Academy, spending several years within the academy before senior stints with Adamstown Rosebuds and Northern Tigers. Emma made the move from Australia to the United States, playing Division 1 College “soccer” for the University of Louisiana and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. In the college off-season, she played semi-professionally for San Antonio Athenians and Eagle FC. Bates then returned to Australia, spending a season back with the Club’s youth team in the NPL NSW.

Season 2025/26:

Emma signed a one-year scholarship deal ahead of the season. Emma made her debut in a 3-0 win over Brisbane Roar, starting and playing 90 minutes. She finished her debut professional season with 12 appearances, 11 of them starts.

Season 2026/27:

After an impressive debut season, Bates extended her contract with the Club for a further two seasons.
