Thomas Aquilina Extends Stay in Newcastle

The Newcastle Jets are delighted to announce that Thomas Aquilina has re-signed with the Newcastle Jets for the next two seasons

A natural right-back, Aquilina first signed with the Newcastle Jets on deadline day of the 2022/23 mid-season transfer window, making his Club debut off the bench a few days later against Melbourne Victory. He has since registered 71 appearances, scoring five goals as well as captaining the side on two separate occasions.

Since signing for the Jets, Aquilina has also earned an Australia U23s call-up, as well as being named the 2024/25 Newcastle Jets A-League Men’s Player of the Season.

Aquilina is thrilled to be extending his stay in Newcastle,

“I’m stoked to continue my time at the Jets & continue to push this club in the right direction & bring more success to our fans. Personally – I’m motivated & hungry to get myself back to where I belong after a tough season personally with the body.”

Head Coach Mark Milligan had this to say,

“Tommy had a tough season with injury but is devoted to the club and fans. I have no doubt he will play a massive part in Asia and the A-League this season.”
