With the number of COVID-19 cases and increased exposure sites in the Newcastle and Hunter community growing, the Newcastle Jets encourage all members of the community to monitor health announcements, to get Covid-19 tested as appropriate and to act to minimise the risk of Covid-19 transmission.
Like many organisations in the Lake Macquarie and Hunter communities, the Jets have now identified that a small number of staff have visited a location identified as a close contact venue. Those staff members (being four players) have been in hard lockdown since this was identified yesterday.
The Club has taken the precautionary measure of having all players and staff tested for Covid-19.
With the community in mind, this precautionary measure will see players and staff isolate until they have received a negative result.
This is in addition to the NSW Health and A-League endorsed Covid-19 protocols that are already in place.
Meanwhile, the Jets are supporting NSW Health in encouraging the community to get vaccinated.
With the number of active COVID cases in the Hunter region, the club would like to encourage everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
