Gary van Egmond anticipates changes for Saturday’s game at Suncorp Stadium due to the Club’s third game in eight days.
The Newcastle Jets returned from Bathurst and trained at Newcastle on Friday morning, before traveling to Brisbane in the afternoon for Saturday-s game against the second-placed Roar.
This is the third game in the week for the Jets, which has forced coach Gary van Egmond into making some changes for the Week 17 clash at Suncorp Stadium.
Young midfielder Jacob Pepper will return to the team as will defender Sung-Hwan Byun. As for the omissions, the coach is still working on those details but said striker Marko Jesic is in need of a rest.
“A few of the players have pulled up sore or had cramps, so we will have to rotate the squad to a degree,” the coach said.
“The positive of that is the players coming in will be fresh and give the squad a real boost.”
The coach didn-t give much away on the game-s eve about any changes to the Jets formation.
“We did well against Adelaide for the mainstay playing with a back three,” van Egmond said.
“We will have a look what we do against the Roar as they play three up front so it would be a bit adventurous to go with the back three again.”
The Jets will finalise their team 90 minutes prior to kick-off on Saturday at Suncorp Stadium.
