A-Leagues revealed as new identity for Australian football

Australian football has revealed its new identity, with the men’s, women’s and youth leagues brought together under a unified “A-Leagues” banner. Men’s, Women’s and Youth football united under new ‘A-Leagues’ brand New A-Leagues 2021-22 season kicks off November 19 for A-League Men and December 3 for A-League Women Recasting the men’s and women’s elite competitions as partners at the top of the game, the A-Leagues will use football’s position as the country’s most inclusive sport to grow the game for everyone.

Not here for a holiday, Mikeltadze wants trophies

Many Newcastle Jets fans may not be familiar with new striker Beka Mikeltadze, but he’s determined to change that with a season based around gold. Mikeltadze comes to us from Xanthi FC in Greece where he spent time playing with Matt Jurman and under Head Coach, Arthur Diles, but has also spent time playing for Russian heavyweight, Rubin Kazan. The 23-year-old Georgian international will be the first man from his home country to ever play in the A-League, but he made clear that it’s only an achievement if he captures success.

Papas: Wilshere rumours, a new signing, local youth development

He’s been with the Club for almost three months, but new Manager, Arthur Papas has already made an impact. Since his arrival, Papas has been tasked with reassembling an A-League squad that can challenge for trophies and it’s included a host of new names who are in the process of gelling together in preparation for Round One. And there’s still one more to come.

Opening rounds of 2021/22 season announced

  The opening six games of the A-League season, and first four of the W-League season have been released with start dates for both competitions moved back with the anticipation of crowds returning to stadiums. The released fixtures sees us opening the season with a huge F3 Derby at home, enjoying two double headers, as well as a Christmas Eve bout. Our Newcastle Jets men will kick-off their season on Sunday 21 November against the Central Coast Mariners at McDonald Jones Stadium, and will receive three home games in 2021.

Jets unveil 2021/22 playing kits, Bonded by Gold with Port of Newcastle as Major Partner

The gold is back. For the first time in ten years, Newcastle Jets will return to their roots for their home kit with Port of Newcastle featuring as the major partner on a new gold jersey for the A-League team. While the Club has most recently played in blue and red primarily, some of our greatest moments have come in gold.  From the 2021/22 season onwards, the Jets will return to gold as the primary strip colour. This connection to the Club’s heritage will bond our future with the great players and moments of the past.
