20 years ago, the dream of an exciting competition became a reality, the A-League.
Newcastle was bestowed the honour of opening this long-awaited competition, and what a fantastic night it was.
Our fans turned out showing that this region is indeed the home of football.
Many exciting games, goals scored and reminisced to this day, a Grand Final win and celebrations unsurpassed; the Jets became a team of players whose pride in the jersey remains.
Beyond the team, we had many wonderful people whose passion for the game was and is admired and appreciated and who to this day are still part of the football community.
20 years on and I am pleased that through all the good and the bad the Jets are still here today.
I wish the players and management every success this season and beyond.
Thank you to all our fans over 20 years who lived the highs and lows, your faith keeps the dream alive.
