Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce attacking midfielder Daniel Penha has joined the Club on loan.
The Brazilian born 22-year-old joins the Club for the upcoming season having spent 2021 playing for Serie B side Confianca.
Having plied his trade in Serie A and Serie B in Brazil, Penha a set-piece specialist, has the ability to split open the opposition’s defence, and will provide a creative spark to the Jets’ attack.
Jets Manager, Arthur Papas said; “We are delighted to welcome to Daniel Penha to Newcastle Jets. He is an exciting talent. Having known about Daniel for some time and seen his growth over the course of 2021, his style and our style are very aligned. I am confident our supporters will appreciate his qualities.”

A No.10, Penha has been in the Club Atlético Mineiro (CAM) set-up since 2015.
Identified as an emerging talent from early on, the left-footer was called into the Brazilian U20 International team in 2016.
He made his senior debut for CAM in the Championship A Series in 2017 following an impressive showing as a Youth Team player and in 2021 has been a key player for Confianca.
Penha said; “I’m looking forward to bringing my offensive qualities to the Newcastle Jets. I’m a very hard-working player who enjoys taking the responsibility with the ball, being aggressive to create goals as well running hard for the team to press the opponent.
“To the Newcastle Jets fans, I’m coming from Brazil with big dreams, a strong desire to make you all happy and share many goals and victories.”
Meanwhile, the Jets have agreed to the release of Joe Champness.
The Jets are finalising a transfer fee which will enable him to formalise a deal to play in Turkey.
