Sascha

The Newcastle Jets’ academy system is paving the way for the next generation of footballers, with their continued development being a critical concern for the club going forward.

It is the role of the Newcastle Jets coaching staff, along with Technical Director, Kew Jaliens that the Club enables a pathway for upcoming players.

Jaliens and Youth Team coach Daniel McBreen have named some of the standout performers to keep an eye on.

Sascha Montefiore

The talented attacking prospect, Sascha Montefiore has caught the eye of youth team Coach McBreen, with the youngster excelling over recent months.

McBreen commends Montefiore’s hold up play and his ability to create chances for his side to score.

Montefiore is a team player and pushes for the full 90.

“Sascha has been excellent in the last 18 months,” McBreen said.

“He can score goals, but his creative play is a strength of his game.”

Milo Bisogni

Another young gun impressing is 17-year-old holding midfielder, Milo Bisogni.

A Byron Bay product, Bisogni has been in the Jets system for several seasons and currently in the 19s Jets.

“He understands the game tactically and controls the tempo for the team,” McBreen said.

“He has a nice touch. He’s only little but plays above his weight.”

Liam Geoghegan

Currently in the U13 boy’s squad, Liam Geoghegan has been delivering some top performances for his side throughout this season and is showing positive signs in his development.

Technical Director, Jaliens is ensuring that youngsters like Geoghegan are receiving the best possible opportunities to continue their progress in the Jets Academy system.

“He is a strong player for his age and doesn’t shy away from the physical aspects of the game,” Jaliens said.

“Geoghegan is a player that we need to develop because he has potential.”

Jayden Ritchie

Along with Geoghegan, Jayden Ritchie has been leading his side to results by putting in a shift week in week out.

Ritchie has been identified as a prospect by Jaliens and believes the youngster can build on his current momentum.

“Jayden has a good playing style and makes things look easy,” Jaliens said.

“He can play in an offensive and defensive role which makes him dynamic.”
