The Hunter Ports- Newcastle Jets kick off round 16 of the A-League with their first Friday night home match of the season against Wellington Phoenix. Both sides are coming off good last start performances; the Phoenix recording a rare away victory on the Gold Coast, whilst the Jets stretched league leaders, and fierce rivals, the Central Coast Mariners for ninety minutes before returning home with a point .
This fixture looms as an almost must win game for the Jets, with Wellington six points ahead of them on the league ladder and with the next three games on the road.
We encourage all Members attending this Friday night to set out a little earlier and watch the Jets youth team in action against the AIS, in their only appearance before the A-League team this season. There will be some fine young talent on display.
