The Newcastle Jets are thrilled to announce that Angus Reid has signed a scholarship deal with the Club for the 2026/27 season
The 19-year-old defender spent several years in the Central Coast Mariners academy before moving to the Club’s Youth Team at the beginning of 2026. He recently made his senior debut in the AFC Champions League Elite against Kashima Antlers.
Reid is thrilled to sign a scholarship deal.
“I’m really excited to be signing with my hometown club and representing my family and friends. To be able to play in the place I grew up is something I’m really proud of. I’m ready to put in the work and give everything I can for the team and our town.”
Newcastle Jets General Manager of Football Nigel Boogaard said,
“Angus has worked really hard to earn this opportunity, and it’s a credit to the attitude and commitment he’s shown along the way.
He’s a fantastic young man who’s really embraced being part of the senior environment, and the improvement we’ve seen in him in such a short time has been really pleasing.
We believe he’s got a bright future ahead of him, and we’re excited to give him this opportunity and continue supporting his development.”
