Match Report: Boys Youth Beat Bonnyrigg, Continue Race For Promotion

The Boys Youth Team defeated Bonnyrigg White Eagles 4-1 at home on Saturday, as they continue to push for promotion into the NSW NPL.

Janni Rafty opened the scoring for the Youth Team in the 24th minute. Oliver Cockle found Janni in space just outside the box. He cut inside, beating his defender in the process before sliding the ball through a crowd into the bottom right corner.

Ethan Debono would grab a second for the Youth Team in the 39th minute. Debono chased down a through ball from Christian Bracco, before cutting back onto his right foot and drilling a low shot through the defenders legs into the back of the net. 2-0 going into the halftime break.

Oli Cockle would get himself on the scoresheet for the fifth consecutive game. A long ball from Kyle McSeveney would find the unmarked Cockle. He drove into the box before curling the ball over the keepers head, leaving him swiping at nothing as it nestled into the top right corner.

Lucas Johnson would grab the fourth goal of the night in the 70th minute. Bracco would find the young forward out on the left touchline. Johnson would then drive at goal with pace, before unleashing a stinging effort which hit the back of the net before the keeper could react to it, 4-0.

Bonnyrigg would grab a consolation goal in the 81st minute, but it was too little too late as the Youth team would shut up shop and seal the 4-1 victory. The Youth team take on Hakoah away from home next weekend as they continue to push for promotion into the NPL. The U20s were 4-2 winners earlier in the day, with Billy Eick, Markus Wolscher, Archie Brideson and Dash Baker scoring.
