The Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce that Lara Gooch has re-signed for the 2024/25 A-League season.
Gooch, who came through the Jets Academy, played in 20 matches last season for the Club, scoring four goals. Gooch has also featured for the Young Matildas this year at the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup and the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Gooch is delighted to continue her career at her hometown Club.
“I’m very happy to be signing on at Newcastle. This place is my home and I am so grateful to be playing in front of my family and loved ones who hold such a special place in my heart who I wouldn’t be here without them. I never take playing here for granted. I hope to help the team in any way I can each week to produce results and hopefully make it to the finals again and go further.
I can’t wait to start and see where this season takes us. There is no other place where I would rather be, especially with the support of the Newcastle community. They are the best there is.”
Newcastle Jets Head Coach Ryan Campbell said.
“Lara is an exceptional talent who has the potential to be one of the best attacking players in the competition. Her ability to run with the ball at speed as well as strike it on both feet make her a dangerous player.
I am looking forward to hopefully seeing a fully fit Lara on the field throughout the whole season.”
