The Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce the signing of Brazilian forward Wellissol for the 2024/25 A-League season.
Wellissol joins the Newcastle Jets from Brazilian side Brusque FC. The attacker also has experience playing in Switzerland with Eschen/Mauren.
The Brazilian is eager to hit the ground running in Newcastle.
“I’m very happy to be here in Newcastle. I want to show our fans what I can do as a player and excite them. I have come here to help the team win and I can’t wait to play in front of the fans for the first time which will be in Round one.”
Newcastle Jets Head Coach Rob Stanton said.
“I’m happy to bring Wellissol here to Newcastle.
He’s going to provide a different point of view in attack. He’s very good at taking players on with his dribbling. I’m very excited to see what he can do in this team.”
Wellissol will wear the number 10 shirt.
The Newcastle Jets A-league Men’s side begin their season at home against Melbourne City on October 19 at McDonald Jones Stadium.
