Max Cooper

A Warners Bay FC junior, Max spent 10 years in the Newcastle Jets Academy, winning several awards along the way including the 2024 U18s Players Player award. A centre-back who is comfortable playing the ball, Max broke into the Youth Team midway through the 2025 FNSW League One season, playing eight games and scoring one, a last-minute winner against Northern Tigers FC. Max was rewarded for his form by being brought into the senior fold for the 2025/26 pre-season.

2025/26 Season:

Having impressed for the Youth Team, Max was given a start in the Australia Cup Round of 32 against Adelaide United, instantly standing out thanks to his composure on the ball, and defensive effort off it. He maintained his spot in the starting team for the remainder of the Australia Cup campaign, only missing the final due to illness. Max started the opening game of the A-League season, whilst also starting several other games across the season. Max earned his first international call-up in March, being named in the Australia Under-20’s side to face China alongside club teammate Will Dobson.

2026/27 Season:

Max earned a second Young Socceroos call-up ahead of the season, playing in a 2-2 draw against Cambodia as they won the 2026 ASEAN U-19 Boys Championships in Indonesia.
