Biography
A highly technical winger, Kota arrived at the Jets in January 2025 with a high pedigree. Twice capped by the Japanese national team, Mizunuma is a club legend, having played almost 250 games for them across two spells, also winning the J1 League in 2022. Kota has also played over 100 games for both Cerezo Osaka and Sagan Tosu, winning the Emperors Cup with Osaka in 2017.
2024/25 Season:
Kota signed for the Club during the mid-season transfer window. He made his debut shortly after, coming off of the bench against Perth Glory. Kota registered three assists and a goal in his first five games, instantly cementing himself as a fan-favourite. Mizunuma finished his debut season with two goals and four assists in 12 games.
2025/26 Season:
Mizunuma impressed during the successful 2025 Australia Cup campaign, assisting in the first game against Adelaide United, before scoring goals in the next three games against Cooks Hill, Macarthur and Avondale, before starting and playing 86 minutes against Heidelberg in the final. An injury ruled Kota out of the first seven rounds of the A-League, making his first appearance of the campaign off the bench in a 3-1 away win over Wellington Phoenix. He registered his first goal contribution, an assist, in a 4-5 loss to Macarthur, before scoring his first goal of the season in his first start of the league campaign in a 2-1 win over Sydney FC.
