Joe Shaughnessy

Joe’s career started in Aberdeen, where he played over 50 times whilst also experiencing two separate loan spells at Forfar Athletic and Falkirk. From Aberdeen, he moved to St Johnstone, playing over 150 times for the club. A season followed at Southend United, before a three year spell with St Mirren. From there, he made the move to Dundee F.C, where he would eventually be named captain. Joe has previously represented the Republic of Ireland at U19 and U21 level, being capped seven times across the two age groups.

2025/26 Season:

Shaughnessy signed for the Jets ahead of the 2025/26 season. He would feature on the bench once, against Avondale FC, through the club’s successful Australia Cup run, before finally debuting in Round two during a 5-2 win over Melbourne Victory. Joe scored his first goal for the Club away to Western Sydney Wanderers in Round 13, helping the Club to a 2-1 win. Joe finished his debut season with 22 appearances for the club, playing a key role in defence as the Club lifted their first Premiers Plate.

2026/27 Season:

Joe signed a one-year extension at the beginning of the 2026/27 season.
