Biography
A highly explosive and technical winger or attacking midfielder, Ethan Debono spent much of his developmental years with the Central Coast Mariners Academy, before spending half a season in Macarthur’s Youth Team. Ethan has represented Australia at U18s Schoolboys level, and has also represented Malta at U19 level. At the start of 2025, he signed for the Newcastle Jets, initially with the Youth Team.
2025/26 Season:
Ethan made his professional debut for the Club in the Australia Cup Round of 32 against Adelaide United, playing the final 28 minutes off of the bench. Alongside this, Debono impressed for the Youth Team, scoring 12 goals in 28 games in the 2025 FNSW League One competition. He then went on a short loan spell to NWS Spirit in the Australian Championship, before returning to the Club, being named on the bench for the Round 22 2-1 win over Sydney FC.
