Biography
A Western Sydney Wanderers junior, Alex came through their entire youth system, debuting in the Australia Cup at 16 against Broadmeadow Magic. Alex spent several years as a member of the Wanderers A-League squad, before spending a short period on loan at Melbourne Victory, where he played in the 24/25 A-League Grand Final. The attacking midfielder, who can also play out wide, has been a regular for the Australian U20 side, including winning MVP at the AFC U20 Asian Cup, which Australia won. He was also named the AFC Youth Player of the Year for 2025
2025/26 Season:
Alex signed a two-year deal with the Club at the beginning of the 2025/26 season. He scored on debut against Adelaide United in the Australia Cup, also grabbing assists in the quarter-finals and semi-finals as the Club won their first Australia Cup. On his league debut for the Club, Badolato scored a sublime half-volley from the edge of the box in the F3 Derby, which was named as the Goal of the Week. In his second league match, Badolato scored a hat-trick against Melbourne Victory, the first of his career. Alex suffered a devastating ACL injury in the Club’s New Years clash with Auckland FC, prematurely ending his season.
