Tiago Calvano will miss Sunday’s game against Gold Coast United whilst captain Jobe Wheelhouse is set to make a return.
Tiago Calvano will be sidelined due to injury for Sunday-s game against Gold Coast United whilst captain Jobe Wheelhouse is set to return from the virus that kept him out of last weekend-s game.
Calvano strained his hamstring in Sunday-s win over the Central Coast Mariners and required scans on Monday. Today he saw Dr. Neil Halpin who advised him he will miss at least this weekend-s game and be out for up to three weeks.
The Brazilian defender will work diligently with the rehabilitation team to make a swift return to the pitch.
“Tiago will start controlled strengthening work in the next few days which will be progressed as he can tolerate,” Jets physiotherapist Robert Dingle said.
“He will work with me for the first week then he will work with the performance guys for a controlled return to sport specific training.”
Whilst Calvano will watch Sunday-s game, Wheelhouse has overcome his virus and will take his spot in the Week 4 clash at Skilled Park.
“Jobe did a light training session today and we expect him to return to full training tomorrow,” Dingle added.
