Our first Players of the Month have been decided by you, as Angus Thurgate takes out the Men’s award for January/February, and Cass Davis wins the Women’s award for her performances.
CASS DAVIS
Our courageous Captain has arguably been our most consistent performer over the course of the season, and especially in over the month of February.
In February our team played five times and another at the backend of January, and although we only managed two points from those games, Davis managed to shine whether it was frmt midfield or defence.
She finished the six games with a passing accuracy average of 76%, averaged over 68 touches, and successfully made 20 interceptions and 12 tackles.
Davis received 33% of the votes, with Claire Coehlo next behind with 12% and Elizabeth Eddy with 9% respectively.
Davis then went on to break the A-Leagues record for most consecutive appearances in March.
ANGUS THURGATE
What a month it was for Angus Thurgate!
Our engine in the midfield fired us home in multiple matches during the busy January and February, scoring four important goals and continuously shining as our box-to-box worker across the seven games.
Thurgate also averaged 82% pass accuracy, over 65 touches a match, 12 interceptions and earned himself a player of the match award.
The star from Port Macquarie received a whopping 49% of the total votes, with striker Beqa Mikeltadze coming in behind with 22%.
