The Newcastle Jets are delighted to announce that defender Taren King has re-signed for the 2022/2023 season.
King returns to the club for another season having played a total of 20 games for the Jets.
Manager Ash Wilson is ecstatic to have secured King’s services for another year.
“Taren has been a vital part of our defence and having her re-sign to build on her solid performances last season was important for me and the club. She comes with much experience and brings leadership on and off the field.
Tactically, she reads the game very well and combines this with a quality passing range from the back. Taren is someone who also reflects the values of the club and always gives everything to the team.”
King is excited for the coming season and what the season holds.
“I’m really excited to get back up to Newcastle this season. It’s feel we got ourselves off to a good start last year, but injuries made it a tough end to the season so I’m hoping we can carry over the positives and build from there.
I believe we have the foundations for a really strong team. If we can get a good pre-season under our belts and get the right mix going we can play finals football.”
