Run Newcastle raised an impressive $134,413 for the redevelopment of the Adolescent Ward at John Hunter Children’s Hospital.
Run Newcastle, a community event aimed to raise valuable funds to improve the health of young people in regional Australia and supported by the Newcastle Jets, was a huge success on Sunday.
The event, organised by The Cotton On Foundation, had participants register for the 6 and 12 kilometre course and raised an impressive $134,413 for the redevelopment of the Adolescent Ward at John Hunter Children-s Hospital.
There were 3024 runners and walkers that pounded the course along the city-s foreshore and CBD on Sunday morning.
“The Cotton On Foundation and Run Newcastle team is still smiling after what was an amazingly successful Run Newcastle event held on Sunday,” National Projects Coordinator Rachel Bell said.
“Events like this don-t happen without a huge amount of support from the corporate community, and partnerships such as the one we had with the Newcastle Jets and the Newcastle Knights make it all possible.
“A huge thank you to the entire Newcastle community, including all of our corporate partners for making the inaugural Run Newcastle such a special event!”
The Club is proud to have been part of the vibrant community event and to make a difference for young patients at John Hunter Hospital.
