NEWS: Miller, Boogaard & Leonardo represent Jets at season launch

With just over 48 hours to go until the start of the new Hyundai A-League season Football Federation Australia (FFA) launched the 2015/16 season in style today with a range of digital activations.

Indeed, the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season launch went out live via YouTube and featured all ten captains fielding questions about version 11 of the competition and how their respective clubs are shaping up.

Jets Captain Nigel Boogaard spoke via video link to football fans across the nation and said the he expects the new season will be a positive one for the Novocastrians.

“The playing group here [in Newcastle] is a tight knit group and that’s encouraging for this season,” Boogaard said. “This season we will make the Newcastle community proud.”

Following the conclusion of the launch Boogaard, together with Head Coach Scott Miller and attacking midfielder Leonardo hosted a virtual media conference.

The trio fielded questions on topics surrounding to pre-season preparation and community engagement, and Miller gave his players a glowing endorsement.

“I’ll be expecting a lot from my international players and the guys I’ve got are the right men for the job,” Miller explained. “But in saying that I have a lot of respect for the entire roster and we’ll need everyone pitching in this season.”
