Newcastle Jets goalkeepers Mark Birighitti and Ben Kennedy had a keen observer at training on Friday in Matthew Cameron who attended the session on behalf of the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC).

Jets Member Matthew came down to training ahead of next month’s RIDBC Kick 4 a Cause event and watched the boys go through their paces between the sticks.

The 18-year-old visually impaired goalkeeper was keen to see his fellow custodians in action and discussed the finer points of keeping with the shot stoppers and coach Jess Vanstrattan post training.

RIDBC is a local organisation that supports children and adults with vision or hearing loss.

The inaugural Kick 4 a Cause football fundraising event will be held at Football FIVES Speers Point on Friday 16 October 2015 — just one day before the Club’s first home match of the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season against Sydney FC.
