The Newcastle Jets are pleased to confirm the signing of Max Burgess on a two-year deal.
Burgess, who plays as an attacking midfielder, joins the Club from Sydney FC, where he has played for the past four seasons.
Previously, Burgess has also played for Western United, Wellington Phoenix in the A-League.
Burgess has previously played for the Newcastle Jets in 2015, making five appearances for the Club that season.
The attacking midfielder is eager to link up with the Jets once again.
“I have had some really good conversations with the Coach Mark Milligan about the style of football he wants to play here and this is something that really excites me.
I certainly believe my best football is ahead of me. I have a lot of desire to improve. I have a really good feeling about what we can achieve here at the Jets. The fans here are really passionate and I believe something special is on the horizon and I’ve been drawn to that.”
Newcastle Jets Head Coach Mark Milligan said.
“It was clear from the first meeting with Max that he would be a fantastic addition to the Jets. His enthusiasm for the project that we are building was evident from the start.
Max brings great experience from his time in the game and most importantly holds the personal values that will help us grow as a Club. I am looking forward to getting Max on the pitch and I believe he is a wonderful signing for the club.”
