The Newcastle Jets are pleased to confirm the signing of Young Socceroo Alex Badolato on a two-year deal.
Badolato joins the Newcastle Jets from the Western Sydney Wanderers, where he made 20 A-League appearances. For the second half of 2024/25, Badolato joined Melbourne Victory on loan, and featured in the Grand Final against Melbourne City.
Badolato starred for the Young Socceroos in their recent AFC U20 Asian Cup triumph in China earlier this year where he was named the most valuable player of the tournament.
Badolato is eager to make an impact at Newcastle.
“The opportunity to work with a talented coach in Mark Milligan is something that excites me immensely. I can’t wait to show the fans of Newcastle what I can do as a player, and I want to be part of a winning team that plays an exciting brand of football.”
Newcastle Jets Head Coach Mark Milligan said.
“We are extremely happy that we were able to gain a player of Alex’s quality. He holds great potential and I believe we will see him flourish in our environment.
We want to continue to be a Club that is able to promote young talented players from the area and attract young talent from around the country. Alex ticks all the boxes for us as a person first and a footballer second.”
