Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce the signing of attacker Trent Buhagiar on a two-year deal.
The 24-year-old joins the Jets after spending the previous four seasons with Sydney FC.
Buhagiar has played 74 games across all competitions for Sydney FC, scoring 21 goals.
Buhagiar is excited to be joining the Jets and further improving his game under Manager Arthur Papas.
“I’m really looking forward to playing for the Jets because it’s a fresh start for me and I’m looking forward to learning from the coaching staff here. I love the attacking style of football they play here under Arthur and I’m looking forward to further developing my game under him.”
Newcastle Jets Manager Arthur Papas was delighted to secure Buhagiar’s signature.
“We are excited to secure the signature of Trent Buhagiar. Having watched Trent firsthand whilst at the Asian Champions League in Qatar two years ago. What impressed me was his speed combined with his timing to make runs in behind the opponent’s defensive lines and he ended up finishing top scorer in the group stages at the time, so I’m delighted he has decided to join the Jets.”
“We believe that Trent possesses all the attributes to become quite prolific and help us to become even more potent in front of goals”
