Navah Crofton is new to the Infrabuild Jets Academy, having moved to the club from the Byron Bay based Northern Rivers Football Academy.
Navah Crofton has played football since she was five years old. She started off playing for Maclean FC, before moving to the Liverpool Academy, which later became the Northern Rivers Football Academy. The midfielder spent the last four years playing in a boys squad, before making the jump to the Newcastle Jets academy, where she has become a part of our girls youth squad.
“The academy has been really good so far, as a team we get along really well and definitely bring out the best in each other.”
“Relocating has definitely had its challenges, but I’ve moved in with an amazing family that is also involved in the Jets, and I couldn’t be more grateful for them. Newcastle is a great place, and the Jets are giving me a great opportunity.”
Despite only recently joining the Newcastle Jets academy, Navah has already participated in several training sessions with the A-League Womens side.
“Training with the A-League Women’s team has been an amazing opportunity. It’s an environment where I get to work hard and continue to push myself to improve each session. The A-League squad is where I want to end up at this club.”
A-League Women’s Head Coach and Women’s Academy Technical Director Ryan Campbell has been impressed with Navah’s attitude and dedication since she joined the academy.
“Navah has a great attitude towards her development and has fit in well since moving here. Her dedication is proven by moving away from her family to give herself the best chance of realising her dreams.”
Said Ryan Campbell,
“She is developing nicely and I am looking forward to seeing how she performs in round one.”
Navah has set herself the goal of constantly improving as a footballer, whilst making the most of the opportunity and enjoying it.
“I’m looking forward to playing games and developing throughout the season. This year I want to be constantly improving and becoming a better player, and to continue to enjoy my football.”
