McDonald Jones Stadium to return to 100% capacity from December 1

Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce that McDonald Jones Stadium will be able to host 75% capacity for the upcoming F3 Derby on Sunday 21 November 2021 and will return to 100% capacity with some restrictions from December 1.

The blockbuster match against Central Coast Mariners will kickstart the Jets’ 2021/22 Isuzu UTE A-League Season with tickets set to go on sale from Friday 5 November 2021.

In line with the current NSW Government Health Orders, all attendees, aged 16 and over, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

From our second home A-League Men’s match onwards, which is set to be a double header against Wellington Phoenix on 10th Dec, McDonald Jones Stadium will return to 100% of fixed seating while some restrictions may still exist across unstructured seating areas (grassed hills) due to density limits.

Newcastle Jets Executive Chairman Shane Mattiske said he was pleased that the way is now clear for the game to go ahead without significant capacity restrictions and excited to welcome back Jets fans for this first big game of the year.

“We can’t wait to celebrate the return of football with our members and fans again, and the beginning of a new era for the Jets,” Mattiske said.

“The F3 Derby is one of the biggest matches on the league calendar and we’re over the moon that our local fans can enjoy it live in stadium to begin the season.

“We can’t wait to be back on the pitch again with a revamped Men’s and Women’s teams, and in the Gold, as together we launch into a new era in the Club’s history.”
