20-year-old former Sydney FC midfield utility Max Burgess has been added to the Newcastle Jets first team squad for the remainder of the 2014/15 Hyundai A-League season.
Burgess – who joins the Jets on an injury replacement contract for James Virgili – has one appearance in Australia’s top flight to his name after turning out for the Sky Blues against Melbourne City in round 1 this campaign.
The youngster has been training with Phil Stubbins’ squad throughout March.
Burgess will wear the number 31 kit throughout his initial contract period with the Jets.
