Jets leave Western Sydney with a point after a strong display

The Newcastle Jets and the Western Sydney Wanderers share the points after a fiery clash and Commbank Stadium.

The Jets were up for the battle from the first whistle and continued to pepper Mejias’ goal and they were rewarded when Boumal was brought down by WSW skipper Rhys Williams. Beqa Mikeltadze stepped up and fired the Jets in front from the spot.

Goals either side of half-time saw WSW take the lead but it would prove to be short lived as Boumal slotted home from close range to draw us level in the 53rd minute.

No winner would be found, as both clubs played some exciting football in search of a winner. We now look forward to our next game where we take on Sydney FC next Saturday.

Scroll down to see all the key moments and the play-by-play review.

Beqa is up and running for the campaign. Watch him convert from the spot.
