The Newcastle Jets have gone down away from home after conceding two second half goals to Macarthur.
Signs looked promising in the first half following a red card given to Filip Kurto, and not too long later, Beqa Mikeltadze smashed home a free-kick goal.
But the second half saw the hosts get back into it as Daniel DaSilva scored a great volley early on, before James Meredith managed a header from close range late in the match which proved to be the decider.

64′ It’s pinball in the opposition box and when he finally get a shot off through O’Doherty, it’s saved.
61′ The Bulls trouble our goal with a dangerous cross from inside the box. But Duncan takes control picking it out of the air.
60′ The veteran Hoffman has a go at goal! But it falls into the hands of Suman.
58′ Boumal cracks a shot from close range, but it fires into the chest of Suman and is kept out.
56′ Yuel displays some great footwork past the Macarthur defence, but instead of passing into the box, he tries to shoot and it’s wide.

47′ Yuel slips in behind and tries to play a cross-the-goal pass to Boumal, but Oli just can’t reach it. So close!

45+2′ Yuel tries to get out of his defender, but runs the ball out instead.
43′ Macarthur have a half chance and it sees Duncan fumble the ball onto the post. He regathers and clears the danger.
41′ A chance comes for Penha outside the box, but his shot goes high.
38′ Macarthur make a few fouls as they try to work their way back into it.
35′ GOAL!!!! MAC 0-1 NEW Mikeltadze takes the free kick and strikes it directly into the top corner!
34′ Mikeltadze wins a free-kick right on the edge of the box. Great chance to threaten the goal.
32′ Penha again fires from distance and this time it troubles the keeper. Sent over for a corner, but the cross comes to nothing.
28′ Penha does well to win the ball back in the opposition half. He tries a long shot on his right boot, but doesn’t hit it cleanly enough to be dangerous.
25′ When we come back from a drinks break, Hoffman streams down the outside but a lack of communication between him and Yuel sees the possible chance dissipate.
20′ O’Doherty takes the free-kick, but his shot is well high.
19′ Tommy Oar comes off the field, while Suman comes on in goals.
18′ RED CARD A terrific pass from Daniel Penha sees Yuel sneak in behind the defensive line but after touching the ball past Kurto, he is taken down. Kurto is handed a red card for being the last man in defence.
16′ Murnane unforunately succumbs to injury and needs to be replaced. Dane Ingham is his replacement.
13′ Macarthur happy to let have us the ball at the moment. We start the game with over 60% possession.
10′ Macarthur’s corner falls to Rose at the back stick and he goes very nearly to scoring. Murnane comes to the rescue with a vital block.
7′ Mikeltadze fires off a shot from range, but it’s well held by Kurto in goals.
5′ Some nice work down the left hand side between Yuel and Murnane ends in a shot for Penha. His first is blocked, and his second drifts wide.
3′ Both Yuel and Boumal try early attacking raids, but their touches let them down on both occasions as the ball travels over the by-line.
