Newcastle Jets can confirm that Lauren Allan has retired from A-League football.
A fan favourite, known for her relentless work-rate, Allan, who began her career with the Club in 2019, made over 116 appearances in the Ninja A-League, scoring 24 goals.
“Playing for my hometown club has been a huge part of my life. I’ve had so many good memories at the club – playing my 100th game at home, making finals footy, becoming the second leading goal scorer for the club, spiderman celebrations and making new friendships along the way too, but after 7 years, I’m ready for my next chapter in life without A-League football.
It wasn’t an easy decision, and it has been an emotional rollercoaster for me, but It felt like the right time to say goodbye and focus on my radiography/ultrasound career and settle down with my partner.
Thank you to all the fans, and my family and friends that have supported me along my journey, I honestly couldn’t have done it without you guys. Up the Jets!”
Newcastle Jets Head Coach Stephen Hoyle paid tribute to Allan.
“Lauren’s career at the Jets has been fantastic. Her goals, consistency, and that match-winner on her 100th appearance say so much about who she is.
But what people might not always see is the professionalism she brought to our environment, the work ethic she has shown every single day, and the team-first attitude she has carried throughout her time at the club.
She has been a pleasure to work with and someone who has always wanted to give everything she can for the Jets.
Lauren leaves our environment with a huge amount of respect from both the staff and the players. She should be incredibly proud of what she has achieved here and good luck to whatever is next Loz.”

As a proud Novocastrian, Lauren has always understood what it means to represent her hometown club, and she has done so with enormous pride. Her professionalism, commitment and care for her teammates have made her a highly valued member of our ALW program, both on and off the field.
While it is always difficult to see a player step away from professional football, Lauren should be incredibly proud of everything she has achieved. She will always be part of the Jets family, and we thank her for everything she has given to the club and wish her every success in the next chapter of her life.”
