The Jets’ Round 16 Community Match against Adelaide United has been scheduled to be played in Bathurst…
The FFA today advised the Jets- Round 16 Community Match against Adelaide United will be played in Bathurst as part of the Hyundai A-League this year venturing into more parts of Australia and New Zealand than ever before.
Whilst the Jets will be in Bathurst, the other four matches will be played in Morwell, Dunedin, Campbelltown and Launceston.
“This is a very exciting day for football in Australia and New Zealand as the game spreads its wings and takes the Hyundai A-League to fresh, regional markets while also reaching out to our large and vociferous football community,” said Head of Hyundai A-League Lyall Gorman.
“For the first time we take an official Hyundai A-League match to five fantastic areas where the community has been calling out for a taste of the best live domestic football this country has to offer.
“FFA this year has worked tirelessly in preparing a fixture schedule that offers a wide range of positives for our football loving community and these fixtures should prove another exciting proposition for season seven.”
Jets CEO Robbie Middleby is looking forward to taking the Jets to Bathurst on January 25.
“Our Members have signed up in great numbers and we know they will enjoy the games they have access to at Ausgrid Stadium,” Middleby said.
“It has been fantastic to play many games this pre-season in our region of northern NSW and most notably, the Sydney FC game we played in Cessnock.
“We also now have the opportunity to take the team to a regional area as a stand-alone game in Bathurst, as part of the FFA initiative to take games to regions that don’t have access to our great game.”
