Jets play out enthralling draw with Glory

The Newcastle Jets have played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Perth Glory in the Liberty A-League.

After controlling most of the first half, the Jets found themselves behind heading into the break when Rylee Baisden was on hand to tap in at the back post and make it 1-0.

The Jets started the second half brightly and were awarded for their persistence when a Sarah Griffith pass in behind the Glory defence was met by Lauren Allan who outmuscled the Perth defender to dink the ball over the keeper to draw scores level.

The visitors took the lead shortly after when Isabella Wallhead was given space on the left to put in a timely cross and find Baisden who grabbed her second goal of the match.

Jets coach Ash Wilson made a number of attacking changes and was rewarded on the 77th minute when Sophie Stapleford found Ash Brodigan who cooly slotted the ball past the Glory keeper to draw the Jets level at 2-2.

The match continued to open up as both sides pushed for a winner however the full time whistle sounded as both teams had to settle for a point.
