Joel Griffiths has been cleared to play after being a late withdrawal from the Jets- 1-0 win over Melbourne Heart at Hunter Stadium last weekend.
A win for Newcastle against their fierce local rivals on Saturday, would see them leapfrog the Central Coast into a top six spot on the Hyundai A-League ladder.
