The Newcastle Jets can confirm that our Isuzu UTE A-League team has experienced a high number of COVID cases over the past few days.
Both the playing group and coaching staff have been affected and this has understandably had a major impact on our preparation for tomorrow night’s scheduled match with Sydney FC.
All other players and staff relating to the team have returned negative tests and are continuing to test daily before entering the relevant training/playing venue and admin offices.
While there is some small doubt around tomorrow night’s game proceeding, the Club are working closely with APL to determine a best solution for all parties involved.
The Club will continue to ensure the health of all players and staff is top priority.
