The Newcastle Jets are proud to announce that Greater Bank will remain the club’s Community Partner until 2021.
The new agreement comes off the back of Greater Bank’s three-year partnership with the club that has seen the Jets rejuvenate their approach to community engagement in Newcastle and throughout Northern New South Wales.
Jets CEO, Lawrie McKinna said that the club’s involvement with Greater Bank had helped them deliver on some integral community engagement initiatives.
“People see what happens on the pitch each week, but the club is involved in so much more than that and Greater Bank are an important part of everything we do in the community,” McKinna said.
“Over the past three years, our Jets:Connect program has delivered a wide range of community clinics and school visits that has reached more than 5,500 aspiring young footballers.”
McKinna added that programs such as ‘Decorate Your Gate’ had gone a long way to promoting the Jets brand right across the Hunter.
“To see the way local schools supported the club in Grand Final week, was largely down to the work of Greater Bank – it was an amazing effort from all involved,” McKinna added.
“Greater Bank have helped to drive our community focus and enabled us to put our club values into practice, to have them on board for another three years is great for Jets and for the entire Hunter community.”
Greater Bank Head of Marketing and Customer Experience, Matt Hingston, reinforced the bank’s enthusiasm for the continuing partnership with the club and its shared community focus.
“At Greater Bank we are committed to supporting the communities that support us and our partnership with the Jets has seen us do some pretty amazing things together,” said Mr Hingston.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the Jets and extend the Jets:Connect program for a further 3 years, connecting the community with their A-League and W League heroes through school visits, football clinics, regional tours and other fun events.”
As part of the partnership announcement, the club can also announce the #JetsTour fuelled by Greater Bank will be kicking off on Monday 16 July and will be heading to Port Macquarie.
The tour will feature two clinics at Forster and Port Macquarie, as well as a match against a regional select side on Tuesday 17 July at Port Macquarie Stadium.
