The Tinkler Sports Group (TSG) has moved to reassure Newcastle Jets Players and Supporters that their commitment to the region’s A-League club will not be compromised by its proposed Newcastle Knights acquisition.

TSG executive chairman Ken Edwards confirmed that he and Nathan Tinkler have reassured Jets Advisory Board chairman Ray Baartz of TSG’s ambitions for the A-League club.

‘‘We have told Ray that the commitment remains ongoing and rock solid,– Mr. Edwards said.‘ ‘We are here for the long haul.”

‘‘We-ve already made great headway in appointing the Advisory Board, creating a partnership with Northern Football and building a professional staffing structure.

‘‘Now, TSG and the Advisory Board are working hard on a range of issues including strengthening our playing roster, researching our youth development program and bringing the women-s W-League side into the Jets fold,– he said.

‘‘We know that many fans are also active supporters of both the Jets and the Knights and we intend to do justice to that sort of loyalty,– Mr. Edwards said.

‘‘Our stated aim is to develop both the Jets and the Knights into the most family friendly, community focused and professional football clubs in their respective leagues and nothing will distract us from that undertaking.–
