Kennedy is a local product that has been with the Jets since 2006 and has developed into an imposing physical goalkeeper. His developing maturity and confidence are positive signs for a young man with much of his career still ahead of him. Kennedy won the Jets’ Player of the Year Award following his performances during the 2011/12 season. Kennedy’s game time has been limited the past two seasons following the arrival of Socceroos shot-stopper Mark Birighitti, but Kennedy finished the 2013/14 Hyundai A-League campaign as the Jets’ number one goalkeeper, playing in Newcastle’s final four matches.
